Does your wife seem to think the car temperature has only two settings, all the way cold and all the way hot?

Does she often use the “dual” temperature knob (as-if the temperature in the right half of the car can be different than the left)?

When you ask her about it, does she say it’s because she doesn’t like the air blowing in her face?

When you try to show her that the air vents can be redirected or even closed to stop having the air blow in your face, does she roll her eyes and tell you to stop being condescending?

If so, you might be entitled to compensation

This is my situation exactly. Except she rolls down all the windows, blasts the AC and tries to have a conversation

I guess I'm compensated already. She feeds me occasionally and provided me with offspring.

Did you pretend to listen? When you get good at pretending, you actually hear better.

I've tried that. I roll up the windows and turn down the radio and say "sorry, I am hearing impaired"

Wow! I'm glad I am not that kind of a wife. 😬😅

I don't like if the windows are down and heavy wind it hitting me, but I just grab something to block it from hitting me, allowing my husband the space to still get the cool air he likes. Or, if it sets too cold, I grab a blanket to warm myself while he uses the cold to stay awake.

Also, my husband would be acting super out of character if he was actually being condescending while telling me the vents can be redirected. I accept the advice or tell him the reason I don't want to do that, if I have one.

I'll help. Repeat after me:

"Yes, dear, you're right."

Try this a few times. Practice in the mirror and sell it.

Save the, "I'm the man and that's the way things are going to be." when you really need the win. Otherwise what you've described is absolutely normal.

I think I could make such a trade

Mansplaining has a use case

to-date I have not experienced any male who has any problem with choosing a temperature in “number of degrees” and then just waiting
