SPIRITUAL PHENOMENA FROM THE FILM: GHOST (1990)

By: Ricardo Chioro

Many of the phenomena presented in the film are real, or partly real, others are fiction.

If we stop to think about it, the film addresses mediumship as clairaudience and incorporation.

In incorporation, unlike what is shown in the film, the spirit does not enter the medium's body, but connects to his chakras, which in turn has a connection with his mind. But how do you show this in a film so that people understand it?

It would be more understandable for the spirit to enter the medium's body, because that is what people think happens, when in reality the process is different and more complex. Furthermore, I don't know if the director or writer of the film knew the correct phenomenon in detail.

But it's great that a successful film addresses these phenomena of our faith. We shouldn't demand from the writer and director that everything is perfect, but rather thank him for addressing our faith.

The film is fiction, it doesn't all have to be real.

The film is also from a time when everything didn't need to be so realistic, and also the religions that focus on these phenomena were smaller, Mysticism and Spiritism are growing more now.

When a person dies, many things can happen, generally the spirit sleeps for seven days after passing away, I can't say if Sam, the character played by Patrick Swayze, could have left the body and walked away, but when the film's villains die, Bad spirits come to look for them, they even have a skeletal shape.

Their skeletal form needs to pay attention to notice, and also as if they have ancient clothes covering their heads.

Once a friend who studies Spiritualism a lot, is also a medium and clairvoyant said: when a bad person dies, spirits come from the lower astral plane to take them to a bad place, just like the one in the movie Ghost, he said, I just don't know if it's exactly It's the same if you have to wait for the person to wake up after seven days.

This scene was repeated in the Brazilian soap opera called Prophet, when the main villain died.

Many beings from the lower Astral Plane have the form of skeletons.

Astral Plane is the place people generally go when they die, there is the upper Astral Plane, a good place, and the lower one, a bad place.

Another thing that is very difficult to happen is for the spirit to levitate objects, move objects in the physical world, this is very rare to happen, and in the film it shows Sam doing this and learning easily.

A priest and friend of mine told me that: the spirit can do this when there is a medium with the energy to make this physical phenomenon possible, but I believe that an enlightened person can do this, but it will take a lot of energy.

A common spirit cannot do it without a medium, even enlightened people work with people with the gift of moving objects or materializing, I have no news of anyone doing this alone.

At the end of the film, Sam makes the transition to the spiritual plane, and tells Molly (Demi Moore's character) that it's incredible, that he takes with him the love he has for her.

Well, he has a saying: we only lead the life we lead.

As a priest friend of mine says:

-Agent does not lead the life that we lead, it is another life, what we carry are bonds, love, friendship, our light and knowledge.

However, we lose knowledge when we incarnate, the other things mentioned in the paragraph above do not.
