What the heck is “Happy Holidays”

It’s Merry Christmas.

You don’t say “Happy Holidays” for Veterans Day for example…

Happy= joyful

Holidays= holy days

Veterans day is not a religious celebration so you'd never say happy holidays, you'd say happy veterans day.
