St. Hermes, a Roman soldier, secretly converted to Christianity and used his wealth to aid persecuted Christians. When Emperor Aurelian began his persecution, Hermes openly confessed his faith and defied the emperor's orders to renounce Christ. He was subjected to brutal tortures, yet remained steadfast. Miraculously healed multiple times by divine intervention, he even converted the jailers and witnesses with his unwavering faith. Finally, he was beheaded for his beliefs, becoming a martyr for Christ.
