The issue here is not that his parents were some irresponsible fucked up adults, we see this everywhere, blame it on the human capita system, the issue is that these institutions exist, prisons, mental hospitals, which are built around fear. Here, under various reasons, people can take away the freedom of others while causing real damage to their psyche and hearts. The good part is that those who transcend these experiences, who find the strength and light within themselves, are meant to be sources of spiritual power, for it was their faith in good and unconditional giving which brought them there in the first place. These are the trials some souls have to endure, for we all have to do some kind of work here, be that spiritual or material.
