This week marked a pivotal moment in our fight for Alberta's future. The Alberta Prosperity Project took a stand in the Court of King’s Bench in Edmonton for an unprecedented three days, fiercely advocating for your right to vote on a crucial question:

“Do you agree that Alberta shall become a Sovereign Country and cease to be a province in Canada?”

Jeffrey Rath bravely stood alone against federal lawyers, provincial intervenors, and a barrage of objections. His unwavering courage and unshakeable conviction inspired everyone in the courtroom. On the final day, he delivered a powerful statement:

“To find that holding a lawful referendum on Independence could ‘contravene’ anyone’s rights would be a departure from the rule of law that could bring the administration of Justice in Alberta into disrepute.” — Jeffrey Rath, Constitutional Lawyer for APP

Justice Feasby has reserved his decision, but regardless of the outcome, this case is already historic. However, this fight hasn’t come without a cost. Legal battles like these demand resources—court filings, transcripts, research, travel, and legal expertise quickly add up.
