I get that, it's a hot and very devisive topic. These posts will probably show up in your followers timeline anyways though? Or maybe some clients have support for thread muting after the hell thread period a while back?

Gossip has a switch to only follow top-level posts of people you follow. Maybe we can use this situation as a way to think of other things clients can do to help people curate their feeds.

I like Pablo's suggestion but that depends on other clients not broadcasting the events to other relays which I guess is not going to happen

I keep reading about topical/subject based relays and the effort going into it. But seems like a just in case feature since no one seems to bother doing it. Maybe once nostr has added another million users will become a thing.
