It’s interesting to note how many DM’s im receiving right now that support what I’m saying. But because “fear” has been cultivated into new users voicing dissimilar opinions to your they get attacked, or run off nostr. Suppose I’ll go “lighten up”… any suggestions?
#[4] seems to be saying that those DMs are indicative that you’ve got valid connections going on here. No?
I’m super curious about what is going well and not well nocoiner or non-bitcoiner experience on Nostr. Maybe it’s just nascent and needs more non-BTC content still? It sounds like there’s a significant group among your connections though!
🤦♀️🤦♀️🤦♀️ I never said I didn’t have connections here. I said from new user experience that “new users” have no connections & that it’s extremely difficult for them to find or cultivate connects. Connections when they don’t want bitcoin only feeds.
True. I was accidentally merging your situation and those other folks conceptually.
So what are they finding out? Are you basically saying the global feed is too bitcoin-oriented? I don’t use it at all, rather I find people interested in what I am, and I follow who they follow. Is that not working for them?

Every account I’ve found to follow I have stumbled on through accident or by looking at who Jack follows and going through other people’s follower lists for interesting accounts. Or by seeing threads with replies from Jack.

Seems like that means nobody is saying anything followable here except for bitcoiners. I mean that’s the impression I get from my own feed, but it’s hard to believe that’s the actual ground truth.
Jack packed up a spaceship of bitcoin Twitter users and brought them here together. Maybe we just need another person with a different interest to do the same.
Discovery is def a struggle currently if the follow people someone you know from Twitter route doesn’t work

#[4] comes across as an asshole on some things, in my perspective, but not sure he means harm. At least I’m not going to assume that.
#[5] it is a Bitcoin echo chamber here for the most part. I actually enjoy a Bitcoin only space, as it’s better, imo, than my experience on Twitter for Bitcoin only. I like that I can chat about anything and have fun with other Bitcoiners. However most of us are nerds for Bitcoin haha so branching out and bringing other topics it’s much of a focus. Nostr is still young and clunky. That combined with us Bitcoin Maxis is likely intimidating for others.
I believe the content and experience will grow, but unlikely for a while. Like you are already doing, continue to be the change you want to see.
Was going to DM you ferret, but it’s better to shine light and not talk behind others backs. No hard feelings Corn, plenty of people tell me I’m an asshole. Likely it’s just me misunderstanding tone and intentions over text. Will still zap ⚡️ your great memes when I see em.

People who come here to be with friends. Who may like bitcoin, but do not necessarily make it their every other word. Likes was a nice social construct. More freedom to the users.

To me having a decentralized place where people can have a good time with their friends.
If you have to concentrate on money (in this case bitcoin) 24/7 it does not make it as relaxing for some who may like bitcoin but can still “like” friends comments, and socialize more.
So go follow other people who talk about things you like. People talks about video games, coffee, travel etc etc etc
