I do think we should be paying people who are literally supporting the infrastructure that runs this platform. But we should also be doing something about cases like these, as I said a member.cash type service for relays should be help us avoid a lot of this.

How do we know nostr.wine isn't a scam?
I would ideally do an analysis with the volume of data they are dealing with, the average cost of that , how many sats they are getting and user growth and projected user growth, see if it looks profitable for them to run their services for another 6 months. If it doesn’t, we should not pay for it?
But idk a lot of people here are hosting relays just out of the goodness of their souls, we should not discount that.
