I've never used Alby, only nos2x. Can you explain what this means and does?

I agree with the question

Well I have not got the actual answer, but I am set up with Alby. My private key wasn't working on here when I tried to re instate my account. I had option to paste pubkey from extension. Then i could see my account. But it then asked me if I wanted my post to be signed. I didn't realise this was an option so that was great as I thought I'd screwed it up

Ah my nostr private key is stored there so can sign posts. very pleased with that, just a password needed to confirm and an option not to ask again

So not a real backup, but a useful failsafe for eejots like myself

Well what I mean is yes it is a backup, but with a third party so not ideal, however it did save me this time

okay, so it's not really a backup, it's just the normal signing a transaction feature. thank you :)

Yep, remember you're talking to a dog so I tend to get confused easily.

But I am able to reinstate my account via Alby and re copy private key which is useful

I am absolutely loving this whole Nostr world protocol. The tipping and invoicing sats is so inspiring. After being around Bitcoin for a fair while this is real world use exploding right now. The integration of all this in a value protocol is beautiful, instant payment and interaction across time and space. Well done all of you 🔥🤙
