I wonder why isn't anyone posting any #JapanesePaintings like #JapaneseInk or #SumiE or #JapaneseFingerPainting or #JapaneseCalligraphy or #ZenPaintings #Zen #ikigai

As a child, my summers were spent doing Sumi-e or #Japanese paintings using black ink, and watercolor.

I only used ink and watercolor.

I've given my painting materials to a #Tibetan monk who does Tibetan #Thangkas but nowadays I miss the Zen tranquility that Sumi-e brings.

I miss those days when I'd paint with Japanese instrumental music playing in the background, like koto and shakuhachi, some enka here and there, but the masculine beat of the taiko drums somehow takes me back to ancient Japan in another dimension. Taiko runs deep in my heart, as if I've lived in 14th century Japan, where #Samurais used to thrive. My first bird app handle that got perma-suspended was Katana Whisperer and my Xbox handle is also Japanese

I don't even look Japanese but deep inside, I know I've lived in ancient Japan. I wish I could see some Jap paintings but calligraphy and paintings in black ink would surely soothe my longing soul
