I do agree but journalists don't necessarily have to build a following on nostr, just use it as a data storage layer to cross post the notes to other platforms. It's not ideal but as long as you run your own relay it might offer long term protection of content while the UX and relay decentralisation issues are engineered out.

Login, post, build social capital, get account locked, get your KYC details passed to your government who then fucks you hard. Doesn't sounds like a solid option. See today's news for how this is playing out.
I do t see how nostr is technical? Download primal APK and sideload = freedom to post whatever the he'll you want.
20 years ago it was tough for journalists to figure out how to host and publish a blog and figure out RSS feeds, etc., but the ones that did benefitted.
