Sure that's great, if very difficult.
Where it gets hot is when others opinions affect your rights in a democracy.
In that case, the democracy is the real problem
It's thorny. Democracy can only really work under ideal conditions, hence not very well in the real world. Worse however, as the information flows and level of public clarity degrade.
