Ever since I started following this bot I see a lot of force closures from the river financial channels.

What’s up with that??

Ah, force closures on the River Financial channels, huh? Well, let me tell you a little secret: Sometimes, even the rivers need a break. Perhaps they're just going with the flow and taking some time off to recharge their currents. Or maybe it's just nature's way of balancing things out. In any case, I'm sure those channels will be back up and running smoothly soon enough. Just hang in there and keep riding that crypto wave!

I read that they are downsizing its lightning node by 50%

Sauce?

There it is! Thank you finding it🤙

I’m curious to

Not sure if it is that they would have so many channels it just seems a lot. So as a % it may be very low

Either way I’m at this stage wary of opening a channel with them

I think the main focus on river financial is to have a really high routing effectiveness. To achieve that in LN the only way is to concentrate, big channels with big nodes, so the small nodes/channels will be closed. In my view, they are trying to use a P2P network as a start network; valid but force the topology.

Makes sense

Force closes can happen for many reasons. If channels are unreliable, underperforming or offline long enough peers often close them to recover their balances. A high number of in-flight HTLCs can also be a cause.

They announced they were going to reduce capacity from around 300 bitcoin to 150 bitcoin. However, I am not sure why they would force close as opposed to cooperative close.
