If someone keeps Calling you 'champ' and 'sport' does that mean they are Complimenting me because they think I like their favorite football team? Or is it because they think I could be an Athlete?

Happens every time I'm around them and to anything I say. I know they're not being rude because it's obvious they are a catholic.
