my sister always called them "horace". No need to chase them out, they generally just sit perfectly still in the corner of the wall waiting for bugs to turn up for their dinner.

lol. i hear you. there were cats so i was doing my best to help them live. also fed a brush turkey and family of possums that hung out in the yard (they were so cute), i could hand feed the possums and the brush turkey eventually stopped being skiddish and became quite comfortable around me. they're great to have in the yard. i never understood why some people chase them off

I've not lived around those birds. I think they do tear up shit. I worked on a garden once in the mountains near the gold coast that had a resident wild peacock. They are scary mfs lol. Like 2x more size than swans and a much sharper beak.

The animals are awesome. Some day I'll be living closer to them. Soon ™️
