The south probably isn't as good as Michigan is. I'd consider leaving the south for Michigan. Michigan, Wisconsin, Montana, Idaho, and maybe other northern/northwestern states are where I'm looking to move to.
Michigan is beautiful and I miss it a lot but that is absolutely occupied territory right now unfortunately

I'm not planning on going anywhere near detroit or the other "rough" areas. I'd want to be close to the great lakes.
