Some spend if they believe that in order to have more places accept Bitcoin, more people will need to actually use it.
I also tried search for such a places saying they accept #bitcoin but not too many are here in #Prague. And happened to me, some stopped to accept it.. I wish more places would start accepting #btc so that I can support the #adoption
Have you tried using https://www.bitrefill.com/ ?
Actually not, but of course I know it. For me it is not about spending as a must, as a need to get tid of bitvoins because I would have plenty.. (buying coupons to be able to spend them)
For me it is about adoption and being able to spend them simply in stores every day..
Anyway, it looks the merchant adoption is getting lower with the bitcoin price..
Would like to hear from you if your cities are getting better in it..?
Slowly some places are accepting. Have you used this to find places?
Yeah, this is a url of the app I mentioned above. @josh noted some places are outdated in SF, similar in Prague.
The adoption is going pretty slowly.. i think it is because of uncertainty of right taxaition - a regulation is missing & the ask for paying with #BTC is low
I have tried to use it wherever possible but the sad reality is that almost no one takes Bitcoin (here in the US)
thatΒ΄s sad. I thought the US have more places accepting #btc and the adoption is way more in forward there, especially in Miami. Where in US do you search for them?
Im in San Francisco. I've only used it at one place and it was on a managers phone at a restaurant.
do you use any app to find the places? I use #BTC Map - app on iOS and see approx 30 spots in SF. ThatΒ΄s very similar to Prague.
The places are outdated or aren't somewhere I would go. Need restaurants and other places.
Yeah, same here. I mean the need and the reality as well.
We will probably need to wait the hype of next halving..
If Square or Clover integrated Lightning, it would automatically be accepted in half the country.
is anything like that in a roadmap?
According to Jack they're trying to figure it out. Imagine it has to do with upfront liquidity.
And there's also the volatility of Bitcoin. Businesses would have to cash out frequently to cover expenses. If Bitcoin drops, it would leave Square liable for the difference.
As far as I know some of the current solutions let merchant choose to keep btc or to directly cash out to fiat.
Cashing out to fiat uses e.g. the largest mainly electronic store in the czech republic, so that it is not interesting for me to buy bitcoin to pay in it and let them just exchange it directly to fiat.
I think to have there the option is the right way, I would support the stores which keep the bitcoin.
