Almost everyone has been living under socialism, except maybe for the mentally ill who still think "it hasn't AKSHUALLY been tried yet."
Things that have increased dramatically or only existed in the past 200 years:
Proactive policing
Large, centralized nation-States (really since Westphalia, peak around WW2 and declining since)
Mass incarceration
Drug prohibition
Fiat currency
You might complain that socialism is when the government owns the means of production, but ownership means control
