I've always found it extremely interesting how people's perception of you changes based on what clothes you're wearing.

It's just something I've kind of noticed in life. It's kind of interesting that I can put on slightly nicer closes, go into an establishment, be treated one way, change clothes, go in there a week or so later after they've forgotten me and be treated completely differently based on my appearance.
Well, clothes are part of social norms. I don't think it is wrong to comply with those in many cases. For example, I'd rather someone show up buck naked than in one of those Borat swimsuits. 😅
But also, that can be a super power.
You can be whatever you want. Many of the most successful people in the world are successful because they present that way.
Some countries more than others, but yeah, first impressions do count, and one quick way assess someone,
without even talking, is to quickly scan how they are dressed, tells you a lot about the person
