Please share your relay strategy.
I see some Nostrs have many relays. Some have few.
Few seems more efficient, but not wide reaching.
Paid relays filter. Is that right. Than do you read just from them. And write to the freebies. If so, How do you set that up?
u need have mix of free + paid , set READ (free) n WRITE(paid) , some blastr relays , also keep chaging relays regualerly n aways pick 1 same relay as ur follower / following if cannot see their notes
If you're reading from free relays, are you getting the benefits of paid ones?
well people who cannot post note in paid relays or new friends/critics or new ideas in global or network section (with spam too) will be missed
just sticking will paid relays only can become echo chamber or private club in my opinion so balanced approach based on mood will be choice
also pushing own to free relays makes it more wide spread in eyes of unknown or new followers
once setting is done in one app SAVE n auto PUSH to all app
Paid relays make it cost something more than zero to post spam. If a spammer pays the fee and gets caught, they're back to generating a new npub and paying again. A delay between payment and access further impedes them. (not sure if that's typical, but it's a good idea)
I spot check the feed and IP blacklist on the nostr.rocket-tech.net free relay. That takes some time but seems to be very effective so far.
On my client, I target the biger relays (Snort, Damus, nost.mom, nos.lol, etc. for reach)
