Hatcher Pass is home to a one-time huge gold mine that is no longer active, Independence Mine, but there are several smaller mines still operating. The houses or cabins are Hatcher Pass Lodge. The food is delish. One of the pics shows Independence Mine and Hatcher Pass Lodge. The little critter is a Marmot and he/she was very welcoming. 😀 I also saw two Pikas but didn't get their pics!
