𝟴 𝟲 𝟰 𝟰 𝟵 𝟵  |  𝗧 𝗜 𝗠 𝗘

This maze is titled T I M E and is a piece that I made for my mentor - 𝗧 𝗜 𝗠 𝗘 stands in reference to his daily prayer “𝘛𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘦𝘷𝘦𝘳𝘺 𝘛𝘏𝘖𝘜𝘎𝘏𝘛, 𝘐𝘔𝘗𝘓𝘜𝘚𝘌, 𝘔𝘖𝘔𝘌𝘕𝘛, 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘌𝘟𝘗𝘌𝘙𝘐𝘌𝘕𝘊𝘌 𝘢𝘯𝘥 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘵𝘩𝘦𝘮 𝘊𝘈𝘗𝘛𝘐𝘝𝘌 𝘵𝘰 𝘵𝘩𝘦 𝘓𝘖𝘙𝘋.”

The maze’s starting point is the golden sphere at the base of the Cross. It is designed as a “closed maze” in that the starting point is fully contained within the maze itself to symbolize the all-encompassing nature of the Creator.

The red around the outer ring that frames the Cross is symbolic of Christ’s sacrifice for humanity. There are 7 large red “droplets” that drip down to signify “all things in Christ,” while also evoking the 7 Days of Creation and the 7 Heavenly Bodies that can be perceived with the naked eye (Sun, Mercury, Venus, Earth, Moon, Mars, and Jupiter). Further, the 7 smaller dripping “dots” found between the droplets are there to remind us of the wider and unknowable mysteries of God and Creation.

Throughout the work there are found many groupings of 3 which are reference to the Holy Trinity and also to the astronomical trinity of Sun, Earth, and Moon. The 4 spheres found in each segment of the Cross speak to the 4 quarters of the Moon, the 4 phases of life, the 4 directions of the compass, and the 4 elements (Fire, Air, Water, Earth) which frame man’s understanding of the natural world and are the foundation of the natural sciences and technological progress. Finally, considering the concept of 𝗧 𝗜 𝗠 𝗘 in the literal sense, the 3 rings that frame the center of the Cross are reference to Past, Present, and Future all held within the Oneness of God.
