What's wrong with "merely existing"? We give meaning & assign value to things differently. What's so meaningful about finance, marketing or even art/storytelling in isolation? And I think just being is a gift (may not be to others 🤷)

Also if in the eyes of someone it was worthwhile & deserving their attention, then it's their call & they may not view it as merely existing.
