Those of you who are running S9 space heaters… how have you typically configured your set-up? Temp ranges, fan settings, auto tuning? Braiins auto tuning seems to work really well, but needs to run for a few hours for each power setting. Makes it difficult to test a bunch.

I just leave on auto tuning. If it's chilly light jacket weather I like it around 500-700 watts. Baseline is 800 and seems to be a good set it and forget it wattage. I'll use 900-1200 on cold days. Higher than that the fans get a little annoying, though still bearable since I did the noctua 140mm & 60mm upgrades. Wouldn't want to run more than 600 on stock fans if I'm trying to sleep... they're loud.

Whats?

💀

That’s about where I am so far. Still waiting on adapters but I have the 3 noctuas attached (with zip ties 😂). Tuning 1200 right now as 1400 was too loud. 850 W is the only other setting we’ve been using so far. Those two seem to be coming in at like 60% and 40% of the 3000 rpm fans so far. Target temp is set slightly higher at 94 C after doing some reading… not really sure if that has an impact.

The suggested settings in the cryptocloaks PDF definitely confused the hell out of me when I started.

Haha hey if it works it works! I've zip tied a case fan or two in my day. 😅

So I've also got the 3k rpm noctuas. I find that anything ~under 1.2k rpm is basically silent. 1.2k-2k is reasonable for an office or bedroom. After that it starts to get loud but it's bearable.

Yeah as for temps, I just left it at default. I rarely see it over 92 degrees and it stays pretty stable around 90 most the time.

I'll have to take a look at the pdf again. I read it before I got my miners but haven't gone back to test their settings. I've got one I haven't hooked up yet in the garage so I might use that as a test heater once it gets a little colder out.

I've got a bunch of S9j's and they all seem to run most efficiently at 900 watts. If I'm running all three boards, I typically 3d print a 6" duct adapter and remove the fans an use an AC Infinity inline fan. If I need it silent then I'll run a single board with cardboard stuffers and replace the fans with Arctic P12's.

Thanks for sharing! Are you using the AC Infinity S6 or another one? I struggled to justify the cost of the S6 over a standard computer fan. I was curious if anyone had tried the P12s! Opted for the noctua only because of the higher 3000 RPM model though I don’t often run them that high
