QuickBooks wasn't making enough sales then discovered a bug to allow users to both track transactions and save media files in one database.
The accounting functions are barely usable now but they make so much money on the cloud storage they justify the bug as a feature.
Eventually the accounting users get so frustrated they go back to spreadsheets.
I store my MP3 collection in excel. Each song is a cell.
Remember when we found out that FTX was using quickbooks to manage their accounting? Fun times
QuickBooks is basically forcing users into their cloud product. There is no more yearly standalone product. Many small business owners have basically been trapped into paying for $1250(at least) a year. When in reality the product the originally bought for 100 bucks would honestly suite their needs. As long as tax shit was updated. There is a huge need for an open source product in that market.
Would love an open source option for the bean counters. Would love to help contribute to this itch scratch.
