Is it really a protocol if there's an official client? "Official" and "protocol" are oxymoronic.

I’m not defending their decisions to be a company that’s in charge of the “protocol,” just that the unavailability of their app doesn’t mean the network isn’t accessible. People can and should also use VPNs.
