I think about this often. Not whether the Holy Spirit proceeds from the Father and the Son; but how this one addition to the Nicene Creed created a new denomination and then how all the other denominations broke off from Catholicism. I could be wrong, but I don’t think any other denominations broke off from Orthodox.
FWIW I was raised Catholic but I believe the Orthodox version to be true in my mind.

That's correct, Roman Catholics have sadly deviated and innovated. You should attend your closest Orthodox church and expedience a Divine Liturgy.
Holy Tradition is that same faith which Christ taught to the Apostles and which they gave to their disciples, preserved in the whole Church and especially in its leadership through Apostolic Succession. https://orthodoxwiki.org/Holy_Tradition
