This effect is pretty much entirely teenagers now identifying as trans or nonbinary because they think it's cool and makes them special. The number of homosexual kids is not increasing and in fact many are being told by trans activists that they are not homosexual at all, they're just born in the wrong body and need to transition, and/or that they are transphobic for not being attracted to people that claim to be the opposite sex from the one they are. So being LGB is not cool in the LGBTQIA+ genderspecial community.
