I agree with your 3 first thoughts. Slightly disagree with the fourth. I explain myself:

Yes the blocksize is capped and that ensures the bockchain growth won't be overblown... But that's not the real problem. There is no UTXO set size limit and Spam is making the utxo set grow orders of magnitude faster than the price of RAM. That centralization force is what makes me and others worry. Dismiss it as not a big deal is unwise. The attackers like Mikeinspace and others have clearly bragged unambiguously that they intend to spam the network in the most toxic and harmful way possible so they are NOT going to stop their stamps that bloat the UTXo set
