1. Winston Churchill
Churchill was not promoted from sixth grade to seventh. He did not manage to get into any of the political posts he aspired to. But then he became British Prime Minister at 62.
2. Thomas Edison
Edison's teachers told him he was too dumb to learn anything. In addition, he had to create 1,000 light bulbs before getting a working version.
3. Harland David Sanders
Sanders, the symbol of KFC, could not sell his chickens to anyone. He received rejections from over 1,000 restaurants. But then the owners of one agreed, and now his portrait flaunts on the signs of KFC restaurants around the world.
4. R.Kh. Macy
Macy had a string of failed businesses, including a store in New York. But he continued to work and ended up building Macy's, the largest department store in the world.
5. Steven Spielberg
Spielberg was rejected three times in a row by his dream university, the University of Southern California. He decided to study elsewhere, but then dropped out to become a director.
6. Henry Ford
Henry Ford's first car company went bankrupt. He abandoned the second due to a quarrel with partners, and the third failed to achieve high sales. But in the end, he became one of the greatest American entrepreneurs.
