haha yeah, that whole lock in bloatware shit and the endless increasing difficulty and limited utility of rooting phones is why i barely use my phone anymore.

the normies will eventually follow suit once they can find ways around needing the phone for shit. there has been SO MANY ways in which certain industries (namely banking, postal and courier services, amazon, etc) lock you into needing an app for shit.

personally i'm just starting to find a justification for not using those things at all anyway, and lately all my phone does is beep on the hour, and every other day it seems that someone is trying to hack my whatsapp

I think mobile phones are a useful technology (I like being able to tweak or fix my home server remotely without lugging around a laptop), but the apps have gotten out of control. I refuse to download almost any that aren't actively useful to me and avoid companies that pressure, or constantly remind, customers into their apps. Sorry Dominoes but your pizza wasn't tht great anyway 😆

Let's not even get started on the blatant data harvesting they are actually used for 😑
