The Heart of awareness is like awareness in that it is always open, but its openness is heartfull. The Heart of awareness is a loving and intimately connected awareness
—it is intimacy without attachment or demand. It cannot close, and it cannot open, because it is always and already as open and vast as awareness itself. When we are unconscious of the Heart of awareness or the Spiritual Heart, we have no experience of it—to one who is unconscious of it, it might as well not be there at all."
