For all those posting "free samourai", you are just virtue signaling a dead cause.
They pleaded guilty, is game over !
If they were real freedom fighters will never plead guilty and will "play" the court in other way, not with pussy lawyers.
I suggest to watch the old movie "Interstate 60" and see what am I talking about. here is a scene of how to play the court to defend your position.

You never plead in a court, guilty or not guilty, never plead.
Pleading means you renounce to all your rights, you are a garbage, a slave and they can do whatever they want with you.
The truth does hurt and the truth is you would probably fold like a cheap lawn chair if you were faced with 30+ years.
It’s easy to say how you would act when you in your easy chair at home pretending to be a Star Wars villain but when shit hits the fan people don’t act the way they say they will.

I think you do not understand the words "plead guilty".
I do, they took a 100% chance of 5 years in prison to avoid a 90%+ chance of 30+. They did what they had to do to guarantee they’d see their family outside of prison again. It was a shit deal but 30 years behind bars is basically a death sentence for a middle aged man.
pleading guilty = coward, no balls to defend
Again talk is cheap you sound tough and brave guy but the reality is if you were faced with the same you’d most like sing like a canary. Have you ever been arrested and face serious time in prison how do you know you’d be a big strong man and not a coward? I guess I’ll just have to talk your word for it you are.
