Early reports indicate that explosive devices of some sort were used in an attack by opposition and/or pro-Assad regime forces against a command center of the Transitional Government in Latakia, Syria. Reports also indicate that gunfights are ongoing. Earlier reporting did mention a “large explosion.”

Both the Latakia and Tartus provinces have seen opposition and/or pro-Assad regime activity that forces of the Transitional Government continue to stamp out.
