Yes... there's a learning curve here, akin to most decentralized protocols. Here's 2 I found useful below and one of ours.
Once you download and connect a Lightning Wallet (Alby or Wallet Of Satoshi are custodial, yet easy) we can test sending and recieving Sats in message!
