don't make other people's money decisions for them. it's their money and their risk.
if they can't make a decision, they are not ready to invest (risk) their money
(it is a little like giving fish vs. teaching to fish... you show them how to make a decision)

helping people learn to make decisions is teaching people to be self reliant. and, it helps you clarify all the points before you present it to them.
tell them what you think if you must but also make it clear that it is their decision.
as for the technical stuff you are asking on here... i have no clue but i will be interested to see what people who know about it say so i can then understand and make my own decision.

I hear you man. The mental framework you're coming from is just a bit different that the person I'm working with.
Hand holding and showing that making decisions can be okay is the helpful option instead of letting them live in fear.
Its a mindset that probably doesnt really compute for people like you and me. I didn't give that context, so I hear you on your advice being good for a lot of situations.

Not being able to make a decision is child mind. I'm aware that that is who you are dealing with. You are an adult.
When you show them how to think it through, they will learn to think like an adult. That is a moment of enligtenment.
Doing it for them keeps them as a child. (enabling)
There is too much of that.
I also know it's hard. This situation and ones like it will arise again and again in your life.
