Thanks, Corn. I checked it out, but I wasn't able to figure out how to derive the auth string. Am I missing that somewhere obvious?

Go to nwc.getalby.com. Once you login, click “New Session”, name it whatever you want and click confirm, and then it will give you the auth string that you paste into snort. You can go back to that same page to disconnect the app/wallet.

Terrific. Done. nostr:npub1v0lxxxxutpvrelsksy8cdhgfux9l6a42hsj2qzquu2zk7vc9qnkszrqj49 maybe something to place as a tip with the Alby option under Wallet settings?

also UI in getalby needs work… #[5] perhaps adding explainers for new session and other workflows

Agreed. There are no pointers/info from the extension.

Also, I deleted the WebLN connection to Alby from snort, then added a NWN connection, but no joy. It shows zero balance and zaps fail. The UI indicates success, but no sats sent.

Looks like some testing to do.

Hmm, mine showed 0 balance but the zaps still sent when I used it. The 0 balance I think is just because that feature isn’t implemented yet, but not sure why the zaps would fail.

Looked at it again. The NWC connection keep disappearing from snort, actually.

Oh weird. Not sure what’s causing that.

I don't think we share the balance, yet.

This has some questions to solve first. e.g. if a user sets balances and limits what should be shared then as balance?

Balances are not widely supported, yet. There is a PR in the NWC app open.

I think it will feel more tightly integrated if it shows your balance, but that’s not crucial in my opinion. As for which balance, I would want to see whatever I have available to spend in a particular NWC app. For instance if I had 100k sats in my Alby wallet, and budgeted 10K to snort and 10K to Damus, the only balance I would care about in each app is the 10K. I would prefer to go to my Alby account/wallet to view and manage the entire wallet balance.

thanks, that's how I see it, too.

Do you think for example per transaction limits are also important?

For me a “per transaction limit” would not be very important because I already keep such small amount in that wallet. But I can see why some would want that level of control. It could especially be useful in situations where you want to give members of a team access to use a wallet, but want to keep tighter control over use of the funds.
