I have vague childhood memories of the glory of McDonald's fries. As I grew older I wondered why they weren't as good as my memories. I figured it was just childhood nostalgia. It wasn't until I heard Malcolm Gladwell recount the tale of how McDonald's betrayed the American people and replaced beef tallow with seed oil in their fries that I understood.

With the rise in pro-animal fat sentiment and recent McDonalds news/entertainment events I think it is worth revisiting. Revisionist History from 2017.

Wow, they changed the oil in 1990. Did the other fast food chains switch around that time too? (The video won't load without me logging in)
