"and parents are too scared to let their kids learn and make mistakes"

I just recently had a conversation about this. It's not just parents. People are being patronised all around and thus they're being cheated of learning from making mistakes. Today even banks try to tell people what they can nor cannot do with THEIR money as if they were their legal guardian rather than just a service provider. Making mistakes and failures in our younger years is what makes us the person we'll become later.
