Sorry for breaking this into diff comments. Another thing, something doesn’t have to steal your passwords and harm you to be spyware. Windows is pure spyware but Microsoft isn’t about to sift through your passwords and hack you.
Even owned by chinese company, then at the end it must be bad always? There's not real evidence provided that the spyware is absolutely there.. and if they were any with that, I was using the Opera, never (🤞🏼) had my passwords compromised.
Otherwise there still about 380mil people which still has not changed their minds..
I found good debut about this topic here: https://www.reddit.com/r/operabrowser/comments/ajmbox/opera_is_spyware/
Imo, this is like 'fork with two ends'..
At the end, who said that we can trust more to companies which are owned by American or other companies globaly? 🤷🏼♂️
Discussion
I'm not using windows at all, but running a hackintosh setup (had a Macbook also).
If I would be a privacy purist, then obvious choice would be some Linux machine. I like Linux distros, but I spend more time to configuring and updating them, than doing some actual creative work.. So then choice is MacOS, not the best alternative for the ultimate privacy, but it works for me.🤙🏼
For sure. Everyone needs to find their balance. I used to use Windows, then MacOS and now Linux. Linux definitely has a learning curve. I don’t do anything intensive on the computer so Linux hasn’t caused me many issues. I can’t imagine doing creative work on a Linux distro but I’m also very inexperienced with Linux. Great for privacy though.
