almost the entirety of the 90's conspiracy journals is rife with examples of dark, unaccounted for money going places nobody knows and without any controls on how it's used.
what's actually scary to me is how, since that time, things have gotten more ridiculous and more unhinged thanks to the notion that we can just do things (print money and fund anything for any reason) without this taking a toll on our economy and lives.
