Counterpoint for contemplation:

lack of click-bait incentives leave spammers bored and thumbnails dry, but the zombie-masses flock to media sites for exactly that;

Will this lack keep NOSTR from wider/rapid adoption, or maybe if so, is that a good thing? 🤔🧐

There has to be incentive. What’s the incentive?

Inflated fiat bucks on other platforms? 😄

Do you think the spammers and bots, if they stay, may have to fine tune their posts by working with AI to provide some value?

Exactly lol. They’ll get ignored and blocked otherwise here. Or they’ll move on to the shitcoin forks of Nostr clients where they might actually find someone dumb enough to get scammed.

I don’t think you quite understood my meaning. NOSTR does NOT incentivize spam, clickbait, etc. like usual social media algorithms.

(Substituted in form of more direct human interactions, w zaps)

But some people, i.e. the masses want the mush, the clicky stuff, the attention grabbing games and shallow prizes.

Hence the og question: will this mean slower or limited adoption of NOSTR to the mainstream, and could the possibly be a plus, not a drawback?

The masses will go with what their Good Morning America regional news show tells them they want.

That probably sounds like some elitist “I’m a bitcoiner and above it” shit but I think it’s just true.

I actually think that it will start with the walled gardens opening a side door with Nostr (setting up a relay like minds did) if they do transition.
