Is #Amethyst still the best client on #Android, or have there been some new ones in the last several months? I have been out of touch with #Nostr for a while.
What about desktop? Still mostly web apps?

Imo yes. Check out Zap.Store for a new nostr based App Store that has a lot of related apps. Spring browser is pretty cool. Also if you don't get notifications from Amethyst you can use Pokey. I've been using that for a couple days and it's really nice getting notified for things.
Desktop I still prefer Nostrudel.ninja

imo, yes amethsyst is the best android client. for desktop it's a toss up between variosu web apps such as snort, primal, or coracle. i also use notedeck (alpha) and Gossip which are both native apps.

I'd say primal is probably nest Android native app for smooth UX. I enjoy Nostrudel for using a non-primal wallet. It's web based but works fine in mobile browser.
Notedeck is very exciting but early days on Desktop.
