As hard drives increase in storage gets easier.
Could set expirations for videos.
If not zapped it deletes after X time

Video hosting is very expensive and that’s the only issue I see
It's a double edged sword. Unmetered hosting not enough storage. S3/CloudFront still adds up.
Webtorrent like PeerTube is option. Still incur storage costs.
What if uploaders locked up sats which serves the purpose of reducing spam because now the uploader has skin in the game and paying for the initial video hosting, then to watch the video it costs sats to fund the video hosting over time maybe you can charge periodically as the video goes so people can see if they like a video before they pay for all of it. Maybe the more popular videos give a portion of the sats to creators. I’m not sure video hosting in nostr is a great idea Just thoughts I had on your post.
Storage is cheap.
Bandwidth is expensive.
Maintenance (node) is expensive or I presume it is.
The bandwidth required is a huge centralizing force.
Even trying to do P2P video sharing causes individual users to hit bandwidth limits etc.
Anyone selling bandwidth to a centralized entity can cut off access to that bandwidth if the data being shared offends the wrong people.
It scales but the question is where to start. Peertube is the easiest to setup and has decent UX. Just no Nostr integration just yet.

I think data-intensive stuff like video and decentralized apps will move to Holepunch, and punch links will get shared around via nostr.
I ask myself this question daily. I hate logging into YouTube. I use BitcoinTV whenever possible. I think expiring 720p videos are possible but still huge files. I am happy to help in any way I can. Smart minds on Nostr. We can make it happen.
Lots or people are having this thought, I say let's not reinvent the wheel and fork LBRY and add Sats for monetization and Nostr for comments.
