i fully support the de gaulle withdrawal from nato. i think it is impossible to sustain both eu membership and nato membership long term, and arguably the eu has potential for reinvigorating its purpose. messaging is just talk without action: if france is serious about civilian prosperity, it needs to make a statement about how it views war. the eu and nato have demonstrated during the ukrainian conflict sheer incompetence and greed, as well as a desire for prolonged money laundry proxy hostility. their one job is peace and the continental war is still unsolved. why. i think nato has clearly shown what it is as a body during the past decade. stop investing in bureaucracy, especially fascist agendas like nato. it is more interesting to explore progressive alternative ways to spend nato money - at home in france. you have a fine military, which you won't need if the war beast mentality is defanged; and you cannot do that unless you stop supplying it with time, effort, energy, and money.

i like leaving useless meetings. nothing gives me more pleasure. you do not have to - but if you are looking for an excuse to be a badass: that's the one. would i leave nato? i would never have rejoined. but yes. i would. and i would wait until everyone was in the room to tell them in person, too. #emmanuelmacron
