I always use windshield glass because in order to move forward, we need to look through that lens which puts the crack/chip necessarily in our scope of focus. Something like that is difficult to ignore. The chip can be repaired if it is caught early before the crack begins to propagate. Even to the discerning eye that chip is never really gone...it's just been smoothed over and we all pretend like it's not there.
