The pitch we're doing in like 12 hours on the VPN will cover it further, but this gets your feet wet:
OK. For my usecase I’m using it so I can have offsite encrypted S3 “cloud” backups of my data behind a CGNATed internet provider. I think in my particular case this was acceptable.. but I wouldn’t use it for everything. Also the solution is “plug and play”. If I move the server and restart it my computers using it will pick the “cloud” server automatically on the new service. And it’s “faster” than VPN with respect to bandwidth..
That said I see your point as well.
