Ok, 'freedom tech' fans, somebody explain me this.

You all celebrate Nostr for being a real decentralized alternative to centralized platforms like X. But we've had this technological feature for a long time with the Internet itself. We have servers, DNS, blogs, ping APIs etc.

Why, all of a sudden, do we need relays to achieve the same 'freedom'?
