How many Bitcoin maximalists out there are running their own node? The fact that I can have an archive of the entire Bitcoin blockchain and verify my own transactions is absolutely mind blowing. I can't believe I'm alive to experience this. Another day or two and Bitcoin Core will be done syncing the blockchain and I'll be able to configure my self-hosted BTC Pay Server! If you're feeling a bit more adventurous, a dedicated lightning wallet is also a good idea!
